Wigwam Attractions
America's Switzerland
The view from the Wigwam was called "America's Switzerland" in the 1920's because it's the best place to see the mountains of three states. Directly ahead is the Taconic range of New York, to the left is Mt. Greylock and to the right is the Green Mountains of Vermont.

At sunset, the beauty of the sun disappearing into the Taconic mountain range while casting an orange veil over the sky is a vision indescribable.
Lea's Landing
Wayne built this Private Observation Deck with unobstructed view of America's Switzerland in 2021. Cabin guests enjoy watching the sunset over the Taconic Mountains while eating their dinner from Lea's Landing.

Wigwam Tree of Hope
The Wigwam Tree of Hope was dedicated in November 2018 as a symbol for resilience and hope. It’s located between the Wigwam Coffeehouse and the Hoosac Range Trail Head off of the Mohawk Trail and it’s marked by a set of wagon wheels and the “America’s Switzerland” sign
Cars & Coffee
While we don’t host organized car shows or scheduled events, the Wigwam has become a favorite stop for car enthusiasts traveling the Mohawk Trail. From vintage classics to custom builds, we’re often lucky enough to see incredible cars roll through and park against our mountain backdrop.
Car clubs and self-guided tours frequently include the Wigwam as a scenic stop—perfect for photos, a stretch of the legs, and of course, a great cup of coffee.
We kindly ask that all visitors respect the space—please keep noise levels low, remain in marked guest areas, and be mindful that our cabin guests are here to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.
If you’re passing through with your group, we’d love to have you stop by and own the sunset with us.
